Caitrin LonerganSummer Camp Instructor

Caitrin Lonergan from Roslindale, MA is entering her third season with the Division I Boston College Eagles. Her freshman year Lonergan was on the All-USCHO Rookie Team, an unanimous choice to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, a three-time Hockey East Rookie of the Month, and a four-time Hockey East Rookie of the Week. Lonergan recorded 33 points from 15 goals and 18 assists. She played at the Women’s National Team Festival and was chosen for the U.S. Under-22 Select Team for its three-game series against Canada in August. She also attended the United States Olympic Team Tryouts.

In her second season with the BC Eagles, Lonergan was a Patty Kazmaier Award Top-10 Finalist, CCM/AHCA Second-Team All-American, All-USCHO Second Team, All-New England Team, and a unanimous choice for Hockey East First Team All-Star. She posted the fifth-highest single-season point mark in program history (75 points), and also recorded only the second 30-goal, 40-assist campaign in an Olympic year. Lonergan’s 45 assists as a sophomore tied Alex Carpenter’s single-season school record, while her eight game-winning goals were the second highest single-season total in program history. She enters her third collegiate season tied for eighth in program history in game-winning goals (11) and tied for 10th in shorthanded goals (3) and will start her junior year one power-play goal back of the program’s career top 10.

Prior to BC, Lonergan was a two time member of the U.S. Under-18 National Team. She helped the U.S. win a gold medal at the 2015 IIHF Under-18 World Championships after earning a silver medal at the 2014 world championships. Lonergan attended St. Paul’s School for her freshman and sophomore year and then for her junior and senior year she attended powerhouse Noble and Greenough School. In her four years playing prep school hockey she scored 243 points (89 goals, 154 assists).

Lonergan was the 2016 NEPSAC New England Division I player of the year, capping a career that saw her earn four-straight first-team All-New England honors. She was the ISL MVP as both a junior and a senior and finished her career with four-straight All-ISL nods. A two-time USA Today All-USA girls hockey player (2015, 2016) at Nobles. Lonergan was presented with the John Carlton Memorial Award by the Boston Bruins, which is given annually to the top male and female high school seniors who combine exceptional hockey skills with academic excellence 

Besides playing hockey, Lonergan played soccer and lacrosse. She helped Nobles win the 2014 NEPSAC and ISL titles as a junior, before gaining All-ISL and All-State honors her senior year. At the club level, played for former BC All-American Chris Hamblin at NEFC, winning the Massachusetts state title in 2011. Lonergan was invited to train and practice with the U.S. Women’s National Team at a training camp in October 2014.
